Abstract: Suicide is one of the leading causes of injury and death worldwide. Suicide is the fourth most common cause of death among young people worldwide. Suicidal behavior is caused by a complex interaction of several risk factors. One of the most common risk factors is psychiatric disorders, especially in people with depression. Depressive conditions are described as mood disorders that cause persistent feelings of sadness and loss of interest that can affect daily life and trigger suicidal thoughts. Several efforts can be made to treat depression and suicide prevention, starting with screening, pharmacological treatment, and non-pharmacological. However, there has been no significant effect in reducing the incidence of suicide. This is because the association of suicidal behavior in individuals with depression is not only caused by a simple etiology but is the result of a complex interaction
of various factors.
