Abstrak

Profil lipid menggambarkan berbagai tingkat lipid dalam darah, yang paling sering dilaporkan adalah kolesterol lipoprotein densitas tinggi (HDL), kolesterol lipoprotein densitas rendah (LDL), dan trigliserida. Latihan ketahanan kardiorespirasi, seperti bersepeda dapat meningkatkan kolesterol HDL, sedangkan trigliserida dan kadar kolesterol LDL menurun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan profil lipid antara pesepeda dan orang yang tidak banyak beraktivitas (sedenter). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian observasional analitik dengan metode potong lintang. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua kelompok, yaitu 21 pesepeda untuk kelompok I dan 21 orang sedenter pada kelompok II. Dilakukan pemeriksaan profil lipid  pada subjek yang meliputi kadar trigliserida, kolesterol total, kolesterol HDL dan kolesterol LDL serum. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t independen dan uji Mann-Whitney. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan bermakna (p <0,05) kadar trigliserida serum (p = 0,000), kolesterol total (p = 0,005), kolesterol HDL (p = 0,000), dan kolesterol LDL (p = 0,001) antara pesepeda dan sedenter. Pesepeda memiliki profil lipid yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan orang yang tidak banyak beraktivitas (sedenter).
