POLYPOIDAL CHOROIDAL VASCULOPATHY: DIAGNOSIS TERKINI DI ERA PENCITRAAN MULTIMODALITAS

Polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) adalah penyebab disabilitas visual yang besar pada sebagian besar populasi Asia yang diakibatkan oleh makulopati eksudatif. PCV merupakan penyakit yang kurang terdiagnosis ataupun sering salah terdiagnosis mengingat penegakkan diagnosisnya sangat bergantung pada pencitraan. Modalitas yang dapat digunakan untuk PCV adalah foto fundus, fluorescein angiography (FA), indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), ocular coherence tomography (OCT), en face OCT, ocular coherence tomography angiography (OCTA), dan bahkan kecerdasan buatan. ICGA yang invasif, ketersediaannya yang terbatas, dan relatif mahal belum bisa digantikan sebagai metode diagnostik baku emas bagi PCV. Klinisi dapat menggunakan berbagai modalitas pemeriksaan penunjang yang lain untuk membantu dalam diagnosis PCV mengingat keterbatasan dari ICGA dengan berdasarkan pada beragam penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Berbagai modalitas diagnostik baik yang telah tersedia maupun yang baru dapat dipertimbangkan untuk digunakan dan dikombinasikan agar semakin meningkatkan akurasi diagnostik yang non invasif. Klinisi juga harus terus meningkatkan keahlian dan pengetahuannya ditengah perkembangan teknologi diagnostik di era pencitraan multi modalitas.
