Abstract

Self-medication is self-medication without a doctor's prescription. Pain is a disease that is most often treated using self-medication. Self-medication of pain is treated using analgesics, self-medication of analgesics can work well if the user understands the right way of self-medication. Knowledge is an important factor in the success of self-medication. The method used is a literature study by collecting literature related to the topic raised, there are 10 articles used in the literature review. In the literature that has been presented, there are people who have a low level of knowledge about self-medication, and the majority of people have a good understanding of pain self-medication. A good level of knowledge will affect people's behavior during self-medication. In addition, an important factor that can bring the success of self-medication is the education factor, people who have good education will have good knowledge so as to bring self-awareness in self-medication, another factor is the work factor. The level of public knowledge in the use of analgesics for self-medication is an important factor for the success of self-medication. The level of knowledge can be influenced by several factors such as employment factors and educational factors.
